PRACEdays18 Awards

A dynamic PRACE Scientific and Industrial Conference (PRACEdays) was again part of the European HPC Summit Week (EHPCSW) which took place from 28 May to 1 June 2018 at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conference week was packed with fascinating keynote speakers from academia, industry, and government.

The European HPC Summit Week 2018 – PRACEdays18 welcomed 343 attendees from academia and industry. The University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (PRACE Member and local host) created a pleasant conference environment and provided excellent logistical support.

Two awards were presented at PRACEdays18.

PRACE Ada Lovelace Award for HPC

Sinéad Ryan, Chair of the PRACE Scientific Steering Committee (SSC), was delighted to present the PRACE Ada Lovelace Award for HPC to Xiaoxiang Zhu, German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Technical University of Munic(TUM), Germany. More information on her work can be found here.

PRACE Award for Best Scientific Presentation

The PRACE Award for Best Scientific Presentation was given to Vincent Moureau, CORIA CNRS-UMR6614, Normandie Université, INSA et Université de Rouen, France for his presentation “HPC for the simulation of turbulent combustion in aeronautical engines”.
