True to its bottom-up approach, PRACE collects feedback on the value that stakeholders of our ecosystem see in the various services that we are delivering. This exercise, done via a survey, confirmed that PRACE’s Values (Pillars and Principles) are widely supported, in particular the need for a fact-driven, neutral and independent actor in the European HPC eco-system. We will continue to tailor our presence and activities to answer the expectations of our members.
Our work on EU-funded projects continued with the signing of the Grant Agreement for HPCTRAIN enabling PRACE to reconnect to its training activities branch. We successfully completed the Inno4scale project in which we contributed to the support of innovative research by operating the underlying peer-review process, among other actions.
We were present with a booth at ISC 2025 in Hamburg, and attended SC25 in St. Louis.
Following the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that we signed with EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE we continued our collaboration with our peer organisations. We were present at RTI Summit 2025 in Copenhagen, with a joint e-Infras booth where we were happy to meet lots of researchers from many scientific domains. Together, we also published a joint position paper entitled ‘How can the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) evolve into a truly sustainable and federated ecosystem post-2027?’
This will be PRACE in 2026!
The HPCTRAIN project, which started on 1 January 2026, will kick off with a meeting on 11 February at the PRACE offices in Brussels. Several other project proposals have been submitted to various EU Calls.
We plan to be present with a booth at ISC 2026 in Hamburg, and at SC26 in Chicago. We will also be present at PAERI’26 in Hamburg.
The PRACE Scientific and Innovation Case will be updated and published in 2026. The Scientific and Innovation Case is a holistic study covering different scientific fields and industrial applications using HPC, and was first published in 2004.
Preparations for the next edition of the PRACE Intersection Seminar (PRACE IS) are ongoing. Have a look at the first edition here. Of course, the PRACE Ada Lovelace Award for HPC, and the PRACE HPC Excellence Award will again be presented.
